CEO, Würth Industry North America
Executive Vice President, Würth Group
How long have you worked for Würth?
Almost 2 years
What do you like most about your job?
I'm a turnaround guy and my passion is turning around big businesses. Everyone wants to win, and it's my job to lead the business back on the right track to profitability. I feel very fortunate that I get to work with the best and brightest minds in distribution. I learn everyday how to be a better leader and supporter to my team.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I enjoy spending time with my family - my wife and four children, and outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. I also devote some of my free time to my non-profit organization, the Dan Hill Sr. Memorial Fund, which I started in honor of my late father.
What are your favorite sports teams?
I'm a big sports fan. My favorites are: The Ohio State College football, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Indians. I enjoy attending the games and cheering the local Cleveland teams on with my family and friends.
What is a typical day like for you?
I spend a lot of time traveling and meeting face to face time with the teams at our 14 operating companies. When I'm not working with the team, I'm meeting with customers or suppliers to learn how we can better support them. I also partner closely with Würth's German managing board as an Executive Vice President.
What's a fun fact about you?
I am very proud of the fact that I paid my way through college by self-financing a hot dog cart business. I took out multiple credit card cash advances to buy the cart, and ended up paying back the loans and my way through college. That was my humbling beginning into a successful career in sales! After I graduated I gave the hot dog cart business to my younger brother, who also used it to pay his way through college.
